Football Team Fills Scoreboard in First Half, Cruises to Victory over Bobcats Friday
Madill used the first half of Friday night's regular season opener to stretch its advantage on Bridge Creek and eventually cruised to a decisive 38-16 win over the Bobcats. All the Wildcats' points came in the opening half. Senior quarterback Raygan Dodd scored on a four-yard run with 10:26 in the first and Dekevis Jordan tacked on the two-point try. JJ Sanders hauled in a Dodd pass at the 8:07 mark of the first stanza and scored on a 55-yard play. Dodd scored the second of his three TDs with 2:39 remaining in the first quarter on a six-yard run. Madill led 22-0. Receiver Trevor Goff took in a 16-yard pass from Dodd with 11:21 to go in the second frame. Dodd capped the Madill scoring on a 24-yard jaunt with 57 seconds left in the first half. Easterwood of Bridge Creek ran a 59-yard scoring play and a one-yard TD for the Bobcats in the fourth period for the final tally. Football Team Begins Regular Season at Bridge Creek Aug. 26
The Madill High School football team opens the regular season tonight (Aug. 26) at 7:30 in Bridge Creek . The Wildcats return veteran players with plenty of experience. The 'Cats will compete in District 3A-4 this season that includes Sulphur, Plainview, Lone Grove, Seminole, Dickson and Pauls Valley. The non-district slate includes a Sept. 16 visit to Blake Smiley Stadium from Class 3A defending state champion Heritage Hall. The game is expected to be streamed live on the internet. |
Lady 'Cats' Bats Plate Runs Fast in Shutout of Marietta Tuesday
The Madill Lady Wildcats softball squad scored early and often Tuesday afternoon at Marietta in a 13-0 victory in three innings against the Lady Indians. Madill grabbed a 4-0 advantage in the top of the first frame and added another seven runs in the second stanza on the way to a run-rule win. Madill Football Picture Day Held Saturday Morning after Friday Scrimmage, Softball Squad Falls in Tourney; Cross Country Practice Meet Set Aug. 27
Madill's varsity football team had its annual media/picture day Saturday morning at Blake Smiley Stadium. The squad completed a scrimmage Friday night against the Durant Lions on the campus of Southeastern Oklahoma State University at Paul Laird Field. The Wildcats scored once and the Lions scored three times in the practice session. They open the 2016 regular season Friday (Aug. 26) at Bridge Creek. In other news from the weekend, the Madill softball team lost to Davis on Friday in the tournament and fell to Byng Saturday. The softball team returns to action Monday (Aug. 22) at Plainview before traveling Tuesday to face Marietta. The cross country team holds a practice meet in Madill Aug. 27 |
Madill Football Preps with Scrimmage at Durant Aug. 19
The Madill football team has a scrimmage planned for tomorrow night (Aug. 19) in Durant. The ninth grade football club will play at 5 p.m. at the high school. The varsity team plays at 8:30 p.m. at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. |
Lady 'Cats Clinch Win in Tourney Thursday, Return to Play Friday
The Madill softball team defeated Holdenville 9-4 this afternoon in the Davis tournament. They return to play at 12:30 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 19). |
Madill's Softball Squad Rallies in Seventh for Win Against Tishomingo Tuesday
Madill's softball team strung together an impressive eight-run seventh inning rally on offense and effectively shut down Tishomingo in their final frame Tuesday to close out the 9-6, comeback victory over the Lady Indians on the road. |
Madill Softball Club Falls to Lone Grove; Visits Tishomingo Tuesday
The Madill softball team fell 15-3 and 7-5 against Lone Grove at home Monday night. Madill visits Tishomingo today (Aug. 16) before playing in the Davis tournament Aug. 18-20. Madill plays at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. |
New Ninth Grade Students to Get Opportunity for Orientation Tuesday
The incoming ninth grade students will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the Madill High School campus at an orientation meeting at 6 p.m. tonight (Aug. 16) in the Wildcat Den (cafeteria). |
