The Madill baseball team had to wait a day, but eventually began play in the Bethel tournament. On Saturday, Madill jumped out to 6-3 lead on Jones by the third inning and closed out a 13-3 victory in six innings over the Longhorns in Bethel. Samuel Bond hit his third home run in the last three games on Saturday. It was a three-run tater. "Everybody was hitting the ball well," Bond said. "We played good defense. We were ready to play." Gage Goff turned in another solid pitching performance to pick up the win from the mound. The 'Cats come home to play Dickson on April 22 for senior day. Lone Grove looms as Madill's district playoff opponent on the road. |
