Key rebounds, timely put-backs and clutch free throws led to Madill's 57-50 boys basketball win against Tishomingo Friday night inside the Wildcat Fieldhouse. Unfortunately, the Lady 'Cats fell behind a tough Tish team early and eventually lost, 49-32. Corbin Larason's free throw with 12.7 seconds left in the game officially sealed the victory for the 'Cats. Robert Ortega bucketed a put-back off a missed shot to give the Wildcats a 50-44 edge with 3:02 remaining in the game. Ortega again made a basket off of a rebound with 2:07 left to push Madill's lead to 52-47. Raygan Dodd added his own free throw with 1:47 to make it a 53-47 cushion for the Wildcats. Senior Colton Clement paced Madill with 16 points. Larason had 12 points and Ortega tossed in 11. Spence Weaver came up big from the three-point line. Taber Bagley had nine points of his own. The Lady 'Cats trailed Tishomingo double-digits by the end of the first period, but Madill continued to fight. Kaitlyn Jones had 14 points to lead the Lady 'Cats. Rylee Ruff had five points, Elizabeth Schulke had four points and Mikah Hartsfield had three points. |
