Boys Soccer Team Overtakes Owls in Win Tuesday Night; Girls Lose to Elgin

Chalk up another win for the Wildcats' boys soccer club. It was another one-goal match, but a little less dramatic. The Wildcats scored each of their two goals in the first half and held off the Elgin Owls for a 2-1 triumph Tuesday night at Alumni Field.
Gerardo Valles kicked the first goal of the night for Madill with 22:03 to go in the opening half. Madill held the 1-0 advantage. Carlos Torres supplied Madill with its second goal with 11:12 left in the first half. Goalie Arturo Guevara allowed no score in the first frame. Thge teams retreated to the locker room with Madill on top, 2-0.
The Owls sliced the 'Cats' lead in half on a goal made with 20:04 left in the match.
However, the girls lost their match with the Lady Owls, 3-0. 
Elgin surged ahead 1-0 on a goal with 35 minutes to play in the first half. The Lady Owls connected on a penalty kick with 22:25 showing in the first half. Elgin's final score of the evening came on a goal with 4:32 left in the first half.
Madill plays at Chickasha April 10.
