The baseball 'Cats jumped to an early 4-1 edge through the second inning, saw that gap closed to an 8-7 margin by the end of the sixth frame and eventually blew by the Dickson Comets with a 17-8 victory on the road Friday afternoon. Jackson Clement started on the mound for Madill and worked through five innings. Juan 'Boo' Escobedo took over pitching duties from Clement. With Madill leading 8-7 in the top of the seventh frame, Escoebedo helped his own cause by blasting a two-run home run to put the 'Cats up 10-7 which was followed immediately by a tater from the bat of sophomore first baseman Joe Avery. Madill would go on to plate an additional six runs for a 17-7 cushion heading into the home half of the game's final inning. Jake Vinson finished the contest from the mound and only surrendered a single run to the home Comets.
Madill lost 9-5 to Plainview on Thursday evening on the road.
