Madill took a 41-40 lead into the fourth quarter Thursday afternoon against Ada in Chickasha. However, the Cougars then stormed back to outscore the 'Cats 18-7 in the final frame to win 58-48 and conclude the basketball season for the Wildcats. Ada nudged ahead of the 'Cats 11-10 by the end of the first quarter. Madill played solid basketball in the regional leading up to Thursday's contest, having won three straight elimination games in as many days. The inside game was working with Joe Avery, Shadow Marris and Samuel Bond and the outside shots were falling for Ke'ven Davis, Ivan Flores, Hunter Chapa and Paten Bond in the first half. Chapa's 3-pointer from the left baseline with seven seconds to go in the second period tied the game, 27-27. Madill continued to match Ada shot for shot in the opening of the second half. That was until the Cougars got a few stops defensively in the fourth quarter, took the lead, and finished the victory from the charity stripe. Madill can take solace in the fact they won the Lake Country Conference, while amassing a 19-9 season mark enroute to an area tournament appearance in 2013.
