Madill scored 24 points on the No. 12 team in Class 3A Friday, but gave up more points in a 61-24 loss to Lone Grove. Highly touted tailback Jeremy Lewis found the end zone four times before leaving action with the 'Horns already up 47-17. Lone Grove got on the board first with a nine-yard touchdown run by Garrett Lemons with 7:50 to go in the first period. Bryan Usrey tacked on the extra point and the Longhorns owned a 7-0 advantage. Lemons sent a pass to Brian Norman who took it 67 yards to the end zone to grant Lone Grove a 14-0 edge with 1:25 left in the first. Lewis discovered the end zone on a 48-yard run to increase the 'Horns lead to 20-0 with 11:22 left in the second frame. Madill kicker Carlos Torres booted through a 35-yard field goal to cut into Lone Grove's advantage at the 5:15 mark of the second to make it, 20-3. Lewis got loose again and scored on a 25-yard run to stretch the Longhorns lead to 26-3 with 4:06 to go before halftime. Madill senior receiver Spence Weaver grabbed a Colton Clement pass crashed through two tackles a sprinted for a 48-yard TD pass play to pull the 'Cats within 26-10 with 1:14 left in the second. But Lewis answered quickly on a 73-yard run with 1:02 remaining before half and the Longhorns were up, 33-10. Lewis picked up another TD on a 69-yard run just as the second half started. The score came at the 11:26 mark of the third period. The 'Horns' O'Shay Harris picked off a pass and returned it for a 54-yard score on Madill's next drive with 11:03 left in the third frame. A 33-yard TD run by 'Cats back Micah Cooper pulled Madill within 30 points at the 4:51 point of the third period. Norman caught a 41-yard TD pass from Lemons to give Lone Grove a 54-17 cushion with 2:50 to play in the third. Ron Anderson burst through on a 60-yard TD run with 11:43 to go in the contest. Madill quarterback Clement added an 18-yard scoring run with 7:33 to play in the contest.
