Dakevis Jordan started the 'Cats off on the right foot as he promptly took the opening kickoff back down the sidelines for a 75-yard touchdown return Friday against Sulphur at Agee Field. However, the Bulldogs bounced back to score the next 42 points to leave with a 42-14 victory over Madill in a key District 3A-4 affair. The Bulldogs answered on the very next play on an 80-yard kick return with 11:38 left in the first period. Jared Williams' extra point knotted the game, 7-7. Sulphur got a 39-yard TD run from Jones with 1:24 to go in the opening frame to forge the 14-7 edge. 'Dogs' quarterback Cole Palmer capped a drive on a two-yard plunge with 7:08 to go in the first half. A 57-yard TD pass to Bumgardner from Palmer stretched the Sulphur cushion to 28-7 with 3:24 showing in the half. Each team traded possessions in the balance of the third quarter amid soggy field conditions. Palmer scored from 21 yards out with 11:53 left in the final frame to push the Dogs ahead, 35-7. Robles took a fumble back 38 yards for a score to give Sulphur the 42-7 lead with 4:42 to go in the contest. Jonathan Lafitta scored on an 11-yard run for Madill with 2:06 left in the game for the final tally on the night. Danny Sanchez and Jordan Herndon each had a fumble recovery for the Wildcats.
