The Madill varsity basketball clubs concluded the school week tonight by host the Lone Grove Longhorns. The Lady 'Cats fell 51-45 and the Madill boys lost 69-52 to the 'Horns. In the girls contest, Madill trailed 11-7 after the first quarter. The Lady 'Horns held a 20-15 advantage at the half. Lone Grove increased its lead to 35-27 at the conclusion of the third period. The Wildcats were on top of the Longhorns 11-9 at the end of the first frame. Lone Grove took the lead back, 33-23, by intermission. The Longhorns increased its advantage to 53-30 by the end of the third quarter. Madill participates in the Checotah tournament Jan. 22-24. The girls play Vian at 4 p.m. and the boys play Hilldale at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. They repeat those game times Friday regardless of Thursday's result. Only the venue will change.
