'Cats Roll to Homecoming Victory Over Comanche Friday

The Madill football club rolled up 45 points in the first half alone on the way to a convincing 59-14 victory over Comanche on homecoming at Blake Smiley Stadium Friday. Ty Davis put the 'Cats on the board first with a five-yard run with 9:46 left in the first quarter. Micah Cooper added a nine-yard TD run with 3:43 in the first. A 25-yard pass to Edgar Padron from Jonathan Lafitta had the 'Cats leading 19-0 with 17 seconds left in the first frame. Raygan Dood caught a 20-yard TD pass from Lafitta with 11:46 to go in the first half. Dekevis Jordan scampered in from 21 yards out with 8:42 to go in the half to increase Madill's advantage. Senior tailback Corbin Larason raced down the sideline for a 65-yard TD run for the 'Cats with 5:42 to go before halftime. Cooper added another 69-yard TD run with 2:02 left in the second quarter. Jordan Herndon picked off a pass and returned it 82 yards for a score to give Madill a 52-0 cushion with 9:18 remaining in the third frame. Comanche got on the board with an 80-yard TD run by quarterback Chaz Allen and added the conversion with 9:01 in the third. A three-yard run by Wildcat freshman Colt Crowson had Madill leading, 59-8 with 3:53 in the third. Wyatt Harris returned a blocked punt 45 yards for a score for Comanche with 5:22 left in the contest. San Juanita Flores was named queen and Corbin Larason was tabbed king in the homecoming ceremony prior to the game. Madill has now won two district games in a row and host Marlow Oct. 15 (Thursday) at Blake Smiley Stadium.
