Madill senior Colton Clement won the boys pole vault event Friday in Tishomingo by setting a new school record. Clement's 14-0 mark is the standard now at MHS. The 1600-meter relay team of Chuy Prez, JJ Sanders, Rio Zamora and Dylan Idleman grabbed gold in a time of 3:33.26. According to coach Milton Cooper, it was three seconds faster than a week ago and currently stands as the third best time in the class. Rowdy Votaw earned second place in the shot put event with a toss of 44-2. Votaw also finished fourth in the discus event with a 115-0 throw. The 3200-meter relay of David Duran, Rio Zamora, Austin Nichols and Dylan Idleman turned in a time 9:03.36 for third place. The 800-meter relay squad of Terry Johnson, JJ Sanders, Colton Clement and Gereall Jordan ran to third place with a time of 1:35.85. Idleman also finished fifth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:10.12. The track teams are scheduled to run in the Sulphur meet April 11 (Friday). |
