Junior tailback Colton Clement's one-yard touchdown run with 26 seconds left in the game Friday gave Madill its first lead and eventually a 26-21 comeback victory against Tishomingo Friday. The Indians fumbled the ensuing kickoff to the 'Cats and the game ended with a Madill victory. Tish quarterback DeVonte Lawson captivated the home crowd with his first-half performance. He opened the scoring with a 14-yard TD run with 8:47 to go in the first quarter. The Indians would not relinquish the lead until the final minute of the contest. Madill answered with a four-yard scoring pass to senior receiver Joe Avery from quarterback Samuel Bond. Arturo Guevara's kick tied the game 7-7 at the 10:29 mark of the second period. Zac Floyd came in at quarterback when Lawson suffered from an injury and promptly scored on a one-yard plunge with 6:54 remaining in the first half. The Indians had a 14-7 edge. Madill's defense made a goal line stand in the waning moments of the first half. With the Wildcats driving early in the third period, Lawson stepped in front of a Bond pass to return the interception 85 yards for a TD to push Tish's leading margin to 21-7 with 6:28 to go in the third frame. Madill responded. Clement got the bulk of the offensive work in the balance of the quarter. The tailback collected the first of his three second-half scores at the 3:49 point of the third on a one-yard run to tie the game at 14-14. Conversely, Madill kept chipping away at Tish. Clement closed the gap to 21-20 with 8:40 to go in the fourth on his seven-yard run. The point after failed. Madill's defense continued to hold the Indians off the scoreboard. Madill then mounted a 60-yard drive with 2:30 remaining. Bond and Gereall Jordan hooked up on two consecutive completions and then Joe Avery hauled in catches and eventually fought through defenders on his way to a 34-yard gain to the one-yard line to set up Clement's go-ahead score.
