Both Madill basketball teams lost on Dec. 13 on the road against Ada. The girls dropped their game 46-33 and the boys fell to Ada 40-28. Each Madill squad has a 3-2 mark on the season. Sophomore Hailey Furr netted eight of her team-leading 12 points in the first quarter. However, the Lady 'Cats still trailed 16-10 after the end of the first frame. Madill only managed five points to Ada's eight in the second period as Madill was behind 24-15 at the half.  All of Kaylen Sweat's six points came in the third quarter on two shots to cut Ada's advantage to 24-21 with 5:04 left in the frame. Nonetheless, from that point on, Ada outscored Madill 22-12 for the victory.
The boys' first basket of the night came with only 19 seconds left in the opening quarter. By that time, Ada owned a 9-0 advantage. Madill bounced back in the second period and closed the gap to 11-9 at the 4:42 mark with Shadow Marris completing the old-fashioned three-point play. However, that was as close as the Wildcats would get the rest of the contest. Ada held a 20-9 cushion by halftime. A trey each from Holden Cass and Ivan Flores kept the 'Cats within eight of Ada at the close of the third quarter, 28-20. The Cougars outscored Madill 12-8 in the final frame for the win.
