Ke'ven Davis was clutch for the 'Cats in football this last season when he caught a slant pass in the end zone from Paten Bond with  seven seconds to down the Dragons. That "Clutch"ness has carried over into basketball season. His latest heroic effort came at the expense of the Silo Rebels in the opening round of the 2013 Kingston New Year's Classic basketball tournament Thursday night. Davis bucketed a go-ahead layup from the right side of the lane with only four seconds remaining to give Madill the 52-50 edge. Madill won and advances to the semifinals Jan. 11 at 5:40 p.m. and plays Latta in the Kingston Multi-Purpose Activities Center.
Made free throws down the stretch again proved crucial in the Lady Wildcats' 39-35 victory over the Lady Rebs of Silo Thursday night at the KMAC. Madill trailed 20-17 at intermission, before outscoring Silo 22-15 in the second half. The Madill girls play in the semis Jan. 11 at 4:20 p.m. against Tish.
