The sequel to the Madill-Ada baseball matchup this afternoon was full of drama. Madill trailed 2-0 through four innings until Boo Escobedo hit a solo home run to cut the Cougar lead in half. Jake Vinson hit a home run to give the Wildcats a 3-2 edge in the latter portion of the game. Then, a weather delay came in the seventh inning. Ada tied the game 3-3 after the delay to force extra innings. It was the the bottom of the eighth inning when another delay for weather was called. The Cougars were batting with a runner on second and no outs. When play resumed, the contest went into the ninth frame. Madill could not score and Ada won the game 4-3 on a suicide squeeze play in the bottom of the ninth. Madill is now eliminated from the 2012 baseball playoffs.
