Four Varsity Wildcats Clinch Silver Medals Saturday at Midwestern Conference Wrestling Tourney at Plainview

Madill varsity wrestlers Will Shelby, Tyler Ramirez, Rio Zamora and Judge Hartin claimed silver medals in the 49th annual Midwestern Conference Wrestling tournament held at Plainview's Activity Center Saturday (Jan. 31) night. The four advanced to the championship match in their respective weight classes, but were defeated just short of gold this evening. Wildcat wrestler Wyatt Inslee made it to the third-place match and finished fourth overall. Sage Salyer rebounded from a loss to finish fifth in his division this afternoon.
Heading in the championship semifinal round late this afternoon, Madill's varsity squad had collected 58 team points. The Madill junior high team stacked up 86 points in its division heading into the semifinal tonight.
Madill wrestles at Ada on Feb. 3.
