Girls Win, Boys Lose in Tuttle

The Lady Wildcats' led most of the way through Thursday's contest against and hung on for a 40-34 victory  over the Lady Tigers to remain in the regional tournament in Tuttle. The boys found the Tigers tough to tame in a 74-22 loss that forces the 'Cats into a must-win situation going forward in the regional.
The Lady 'Cats held the advantage at the conclusion of every quarter Thursday. Tuttle fought back in the fourth period to take a short-lived 31-30 edge at the 4:40 point of the last frame. Madill quickly regained the lead on free throws from Haley Furr with 3:31 left in the game. Furr added two free throws at the 2:47 mark to put Madill up, 34-31. Elizabeth Schulke's two free pitches gave the Lady 'Cats a 36-31 advantage and the Brenna Green's free throw was added at the 38.2 second mark. Kaylen Sweat tacked on a couple and blocked a shot to help preserve the win for Madill. The girls play Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Tuttle.
The Tuttle had only lost two games entering play Thursday night. They connected on shots from the perimeter and converted transition baskets. They built a 20-8 cushion by the end of the first quarter and really never looked back. The Wildcats play again on Friday at 8 p.m. in Tuttle.
Each Madill squad is facing a must-win game.
