Gage Goff didn't need much help from the offense Monday. He got all he would need from Madill bats in the top half of the first inning Monday on the road against the Redskins. The Wildcats recorded a 2-0 shutout win over the reigning Lake Country Conference baseball tournament champions. It was the first meeting of the season on the baseball diamond between the cross-county foes. "Gage (Goff) pitched a great game," Madill coach Randy Rushing said. "He was focused. He had all his pitches down tonight." The Redskins won the LCC tournament last month in Sulphur with a victory over Plainview. However, they did not plate a single run versus the 'Cats on Monday. "I had great fastball command. I relied on that, " Goff said of his pitching performance. "I put my faith in God and just let it all take care of itself." Madill travels to play Calera on Tuesday before playing in the Bethel tournament April 18-20. See video clip below for comments on the game April 15 from Coach Rushing & Gage Goff |
