The Madill High School AP Environmental Class attended a hearing at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission on Wednesday (Oct. 21) concerning the salt water disposal well for Marshall County . They were able to visit with two of the commissioners (Bob Anthony and Dana Murphy) and Matt Skinner to ask questions about how the cooperation commission operates day to day, what the OCC oversees, and issues concerning the the saltwater disposal well specifically in Marshall County. Students also met with Representative Hardin while attending the court hearing. " I think it was a great opportunity for my students to see how the process works first hand. Not only for the court proceeding/protest side of the issue but also to see and hear the environmental impacts and what is done to to protect the environment by both sides, the disposal well company and the Corporation Commission," Madill instructor Kelly Goff said.
