The Madill football team is preparing for the second round of the Class 3A playoffs for the second consecutive season. Madill is an unprecedented 11-0 and faces the Blanchard Lions. The Lions defeated Cushing 41-33 last Friday in the first round. The playoff bracket has the winner facing the victor of the Hilldale-Verdigris contest in the third round. The Wildcats were last undefeated in the regular season in 2009. Before Friday's win at Alumni Field, it had been since the fall of 1991 that Madill had tasted a home playoff win. The Wildcats made the second round a season ago. Before last year's appearence in the second round, it had been since 1997 that Madill made round two of the playoffs. Howard Marsh from the Madill football team of 1916 went on to play at the University of Oklahoma under Coach Bennie Owen. He became one of the team captains. And was named to the All-Decade Team.
