Mikah Hartsfield sank two free throws with 9.3 seconds left to help lift the Lady Wildcats to a 50-48 downing of Dickson Friday on the road. Madill came back from a 23-19 halftime deficit to emerge victorious. Three Lady Wildcats finished in double figures in the scoring department against Dickson. Madill was paced by Haley Furr's 19 points, Kaylen Sweat's 17 and Hartfield's 10. The triumph Friday breaks a two-game skid for the girls. The boys overcame a 38-33 halftime deficit of their own to depart Dickson with an 82-67 win in hand. Only Ke'ven Davis had put up double figures on the scoreboard by halftime. The senior had collected 11 first-half points. However, by the final horn, three other Wildcats had joined Davis in the double-figure category. Joe Avery, Ivan Flores and Samuel Bond had that honor. The 'Cats broke a 52-52 tie with 1:27 left in the third frame and really never looked back by outscoring Dickson 30-15 for the remainder of the contest for the victory. Madill has but mere hours to rest before lacing up the shoes again to face the Demons of Duncan for homecoming Feb. 2. The varsity girls game begins at 6:30 p.m. with the boys contest to follow. The queen coronation is after the games Saturday night. |
