Lady 'Cats Lose Close Contest to Frederick in Marlow Saturday Afternoon

posted Aug 29, 2015, 6:51 PM by Brandon Jacks
Bailey Gammil's RBI in the top of the seventh inning closed the Lady Wildcats' softball team within a run of Frederick at 8-7. However, Madill was unable to plate the tying run and fell by the one-run margin Saturday afternoon in Marlow.
The Lady Bombers had bounced back with three runs in the bottom of the sixth after Madill had taken the 6-5 edge into the fifth inning. The fourth frame was large for Madill's offense. They plated five runs on RBI hits from senior Ali Selvy and Cayenne Melton.
Frederick had the early 1-0 lead after the first inning, but Madill tied the contest with singles by Madison Jowers, Macy Shirley and Jaycee Wallace. Wallace drove the first run to the plate in the second inning for the Lady 'Cats. Kortlyn Yow singled in the first inning but did not score.
Madill lost the first game to Marlow on Saturday in the early game.
