Lady 'Cats Make Late Surge in Loss to Lady Pirates Tuesday; Boys Drop Contest to Byng Despite Outside Shooting Success

Kaitlyn Jones' basket with 1:20 remaining in the game pulled the Lady Wildcats within two points of Byng Tuesday night on the road, 36-34. However, the Lady Pirates scored the last five points to defeat Madill, 41-34. A three-point basket tossed in from the right wing by Macayla Moore was the start of five straight points netted by Madill in the closing two minutes of the contest.
The Madill boys rushed out to a 6-0 advantage early in the first quarter, but would see that lead disappear in a 90-49 loss to the Pirates Dec. 16. The Wildcats continued to shoot well from beyond the arc throughout the night, including four by Dylan Gilmore. The full court press of the Pirates was too much for Madill to overcome in the loss. Madill travels to Comanche Dec. 19 on Christmas break for the last action of 2014.
