Lady Wildcats Fall to Ranked Cache Club, Eliminated Thursday from Area Tournament

The Lady 'Cats faced their second top 15 ranked opponent in the last three playoff games Thursday afternoon. Madill did all it could, but fell 68-51 to Class 4A's No. 11 Cache Lady Bulldogs in the area III tournament in Chickasha. The loss puts a halt to a 14-10 season for the Lady Wildcats. Madill only trailed Cache 13-8 after the opening quarter. They put an impressive run together in the second quarter to get within 26-23 of the Lady 'Dogs by intermission. However, the Lady Bulldogs cashed in on an 11-2 run to begin the second half and eventually led 41-32 by the third quarter's end. Cache then outscored Madill 27-19 in final quarter. Kaylen Sweat, Haley Furr, Brenna Green, Emily Coleman, Blakelyn Self, and Kaitlyn Richardson wrapped their final game as seniors for the basketball team on Thursday. The Lady 'Cats defeated Bridge Creek last Friday. Bridge Creek was ranked No. 13 in Class 4A.
