The Lady Wildcats' softball squad stormed back on a windy day in Kingston to beat the Lady Redskins, 11-9, on Tuesday afternoon on the road. Madill is now 2-0 on the young season. Madill saw Kingston plate two runs in the first frame for the early advantage. Then Kyann Melton doubled and scored on an RBI-single by Rylee Ruff to cut Kingston's lead in half in the second inning. Madill added a second run in the third inning as Jacy Wallace hit a double and Bailey Gammill singled to center. Melton scored in the fourth inning. Kingston had its biggest inning of the day by scoring four runs in the bottom half of the fourth frame to take ownership of a 9-3 cushion. However, the fifth stanza proved most effective for the Lady 'Cats. Wallace hit a single to lead off for Madill. Ali Selvy knocked a single. Then, Gammill added her second homer of the season on a ball hit to left field to plate two runs. Senior Callie Gray, Shelby Alexander and Melton strung together three consecutive singles, Ruff drew the walk that was followed by a single from Kortlyn Yow and a double from the bat of Macy Shirley. Eight runs crossed the plate as Madill took the two-run lead that would stand up behind the pitching effort of Shirley and Kassy Kemp behind the plate as the catcher.
