Madill's Seth Lawrence delivered a pinch-hit RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning Saturday afternoon to grant the 'Cats a 4-3 victory on senior day against the Dickson Comets.
Senior Matt Combs started on the pitcher's mound for the Wildcats and recorded five strikeouts. He contributed two hits from the plate, as well. Raygan Dodd had a hit. Tanner Barnes plated two RBI and Devon Chapa added another for Madill Saturday. Junior Paxton Arterberry came on in relief of Combs and notched three strikeouts.
Madill visits Lone Grove in the district playoffs next week. The first game will be played at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday (April 28) and the second contest will be played 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first. Madill must win the best-of-three series against the Longhorns to advance to the regional tournament.
